Do you offer Manual and Automatic Driving Lessons?
Promotion School of Motoring offer both Manual Driving Lessons and Automatic Driving lessons.
What areas do you cover?
Manual lessons currently cover the Northampton area; NN1, NN2, NN3, NN4 & NN5.
Automatic lessons cover Northampton and Wellingborough area; NN1, NN2, NN3, NN4, NN5 & NN8.

Can I choose to take 1.5 or 2 hour driving lessons?
Most people take a 2-hour lesson once a week. But depending on circumstances we will do our best to accommodate 1.5 hours if required.

What are your best value driving lessons?
Our block booking prices are the best value driving lessons at £37 per hour when block booking 6 or more hours. All lessons are either 1.5 or 2 hours. View details on our driving lesson prices page.
How often do I need to have lessons?
It is recommended that students commit to a weekly driving lesson to progress their knowledge and ability at a regular and steady pace. But we’re happy to advise based on your individual requirements when you contact us.
What times do you carry out driving lessons?
Our business hours are 7am – 8pm, but lesson times will depending on specific instructor availability in your area.
We will ask which days and times you are available and try to schedule lessons for appropriate times that are convenient for both you and the driving instructor. The more options you provide, the better chance we have of being able to provide your lessons.

You may request a specific driving instructor, although this is subject to instructor availability in your area.
All of our driving instructors are trained to the highest standards, and so whichever instructor is available – you can be sure you are in good hands! You will receive a professional and enjoyable learning experience.
How old do you need to be to start driving lessons?
In the UK, you can start learning to drive at 17 years old. You must hold a provisional driving licence and be supervised by an appropriate qualified driver.

Do I need to pass the Theory test before I start driving lessons?
No, you can begin your driving lessons before passing your theory test. It actually helps to learn the theory whilst learning the practical, making it easier to understand and remember.

How many driving lessons will I need?
The Driving Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) has conducted research which says that students need approximately 47 hours of professional lessons to pass their driving test. However, the amount needed will vary greatly from person to person, depending on how often you have lessons, your age, experience and how naturally driving comes to you.
Where will I be picked up from?
Students can be picked-up for their home, work, college or a pre-arranged Northampton address. We will carry out your lessons in areas that are suitable for your ability and the lesson type.
Do you offer refresher courses/lessons?
Yes, we offer refresher lessons and these can be booked in the same way as standard lessons. Just contact us through our enquiry booking form.
What car do I use for the driving test?
Most students use the driving instructor’s car that they have been taking their driving lessons in. It makes sense to take your test in a car you have been used to driving and are at ease in.
